Future Lounge™ is a thinktank based on applied futures studies in Latin America.

What is Futures Studies?

It is not about consulting the oracle or looking into the crystal ball. The Future, as we know it, does not exist, therefore it is impossible to predict it. What we know as future, in actual fact, is the result of changes  and therefore it is the result of our actions.  WE all can work with the future.

Why future studies?

A relative  simple tool to explore the future are the scenarios.  The scenarios enable us to work with destinct and multiple futures. What makes this tool even more interesting is that ALL of us can develop scenarios and apply them in our businesses and lives. With future studies we hope to bring  you inspiration and to encourage you to work with scenarios and explore the future by yourselves.

What benefits can futures studies bring to the organizations?

Today, many companies use futures studies for their strategic plans. All these companies have something in common: they want to explore all the possible imaginable developments to include the results in their business plans and strategies.

The organization can both chose to apply futures studies to explore new scenarios and develop a long term strategy, for the next 5, 10 or 15 years, or else take the results obtained from research as tools for inspiration for the staff at all levels.

One thing is for sure: The future is coming and we have to be prepared!
